agency Success Story

We refuse to work with any other platforms now

We were tired of learning, using and paying for multiple tools and software to build websites and manage our agency.

We were looking for a platform that could look after every process, from WordPress environment installation to billing our clients.
That’s when we were recommended Staq!

Not only do we save the headaches of having to use multiple different tools to run our agency, but we’re also saving a lot of money as well!

We’re able to deploy a new site in minutes, and if we’re needing to hire external freelancers, we’re able to easily add them to our team for that project.

We’ve also been able to increase our profit margins by providing web hosting and management as a service, using Staq’s white label billing service.

What made you move to Staq?

As a growing agency we were tired of having to use clunky platforms, with most importantly… slow websites speeds.
We want to provide the very best for our clients, and then doesn’t stop just at the development of the website, but also what comes after with website speed, SEO, etc.

We especially were tired of:

  • using poor software with hard to use UI
  • taking on new websites with incorrect hosting settings
  • taking a site live was always a pain on most other hosting platforms
  • managing plugins and themes, and keeping them up to date
  • having to give freelancers our passwords to access our accounts, a potential security issue

Moving to Staq was the best thing the agency has done for itself and our clients to date.

What was the challenge and frustrations you went through internally inside the business?

Our agency is primarily creative based, meaning the behind the scenes server configuration and management often proved challenging and time consuming for us.

Configuring Apache, PHP, MySQL and WordPress files every time was something we dreaded – thankfully with Staq, this is all done out-of-the-box and once deployed, easy to manage!

Designing on the deployed sites was often a nightmare, with some sites being on some platforms and others being a completely seperate platform. We’d have to keep spreadsheets of all our sites, and we’re they were hosted… felt like we were in the 90s.

On-boarding new developers for job was often a headache, and would require us to give away our passwords. Often there was no way to add team members to these platforms and select permissions for these specific team members.

This created inefficiency in our business that quite frankly, didn’t need to exist!

Once the site was to go live, we then had to configure the SSL certificates, CDN and DNS. Most of these tasks weren’t particularly difficult, but would take up a chunk of time which could’ve been spent much better else where.

Although slightly inconvenient, these tasks weren’t particularly damaging our agency.

This is where website and client management comes in… absolute headache.

Slow sites, broken sites, CDN not working, plugins & themes breaking, the list goes on.
Having to constantly rotate between the many hosting platforms we used to check and make sure the sites were working as they should was honestly the worst, most costly part of our business.

We needed a tool that would manage that for us, all in the one spot.
Staq’s self healing technology along with their debug tool for those pesky, not so known bugs has been an life saver.

Managing themes and plugins at a global scale (agency wide) with Staq is a breeze. We haven’t seen anything like it with any other platform.

What feature do you love in Staq?

Everything our agency needs, Staq has.

The fact we can pretty much run our whole web design sector from Staq is amazing.

We LOVE the new Staq Cache plugin as it not only speeds up our client’s sites, but also improves the Core Web Vitals score pretty much instantly (just have to toggle a few settings).

Being able to up-sell our hosting services and white label bill our clients is also great, it’s so much easier than having to manually send out an invoice every month.

What client success stories do you have?

We recently acquired a new client who came to us for our SEO services.

The first thing we did was run a speed test for their site, and the results were very poor.
Going off memory, their site had a PageSpeed score of 4 for mobile and 50 for desktop.

We immediately migrated them to Staq and saw an instant increase in their Google Core Web Vitals score.
This pushed their site up to 60 for mobile and 78 for desktop.

After that we played around with the Staq Cache plugin and further optimised their sites by automatically converting images to WebP, delaying some of the code and were able to get their site to 91 for mobile and 96 for desktop.

After only a few days we saw a jump in their keyword rankings.

Has the development and deployment of your WordPress builds improved because of Staq?

Staq has definitely improved our pipeline efficiencies.
From deploying to managing, Staq has made our life 1000x easier.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again.

Staq is the best thing that has happened to our agency.
