{"id":29931,"date":"2022-08-09T04:07:35","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T04:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/knowledgebase\/my-plugins-are-not-updating-inside-wordpress\/"},"modified":"2025-01-08T07:20:20","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T07:20:20","slug":"my-plugins-are-not-updating-inside-wordpress","status":"publish","type":"knowledgebase","link":"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/sg\/knowledgebase\/my-plugins-are-not-updating-inside-wordpress\/","title":{"rendered":"My Plugins are not updating inside WordPress"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Issue<\/h2>\n<p>Inside the WordPress dashboard of the website in question, you clicked the Update button to see a list of plugins that need to be updated but after you process it, you either get:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an error<\/li>\n<li>or it spins\/times out<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Go to the Staq Panel of the website in question and click\u00a0<strong>Debug<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-15417\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/debug-1024x503.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"503\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then, review the error message:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-27524\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/debug-plugin-not-updating-1024x331.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"331\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under the Request column, you can see the file name which points to a fatal PHP error due to the theme.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is to review the theme and see:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>can the theme be updated?<\/li>\n<li>are there any php errors inside the theme?<\/li>\n<li>is the theme compatible for PHP 7x and\/or 8+?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Solution<\/h2>\n<p>To avoid conflicts and to see if the issue is rectified, please ensure that you&#8217;ve updated all plugins and themes to the latest version, including the plugin or theme that&#8217;s causing an issue via knowledge or detailed within the log files via Staq Debug.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":29630,"parent":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-29931","knowledgebase","type-knowledgebase","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categories-plugins-themes-diagnose"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.8 -
