We believe this is the first time a Managed Hosting platform for WordPress has applied 2FA as a built-in security feature \u2014 without requiring a plugin!<\/p>\n<p>Our implementation is both seamless and secure. You can enable 2FA:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Globally<\/strong> across all sites \u2014 applying to current and future websites with no extra configuration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Individually<\/strong> per site \u2014 configure each site as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Global Settings &#8211; 2FA<\/h2>\n<p>To enable 2FA for all sites, go to <strong>Global Settings &gt; WP Login 2FA<\/strong> inside your Staq Dashboard:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2fa-Global-Settings.png\" alt=\"Global 2FA Settings\" width=\"1559\" height=\"846\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By default, 2FA is disabled. From the <strong>Enable Login 2FA<\/strong> dropdown, select <strong>Yes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Enabling-2FA-Global.png\" alt=\"Enable Global 2FA\" width=\"1180\" height=\"559\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then choose <strong>All Websites<\/strong> to apply 2FA across your entire Staq account. You may exclude specific sites or fine-tune the user roles it applies to:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2fa-Global-Settings-All-SItes.png\" alt=\"Apply to All Sites\" width=\"1160\" height=\"748\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once configured, click <strong>Save<\/strong> to apply the changes.<\/p>\n<h2>Applying to Single Sites Instead<\/h2>\n<p>If you prefer to manage 2FA settings per site, you can do so in each site\u2019s Staq Panel. Navigate to <strong>WP 2FA Login<\/strong> for the selected site:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Single-Site-2FA-Staq-Panel.png\" alt=\"Single Site 2FA Settings\" width=\"1588\" height=\"874\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Enable Login 2FA:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Select <strong>Yes<\/strong> from the dropdown to activate 2FA for this specific site:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Enable-Single-Site-2FA.png\" alt=\"Enable 2FA per site\" width=\"2204\" height=\"1414\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>User Roles for 2FA:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Verify which WordPress roles should require 2FA. These roles can be adjusted based on your preference.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Save Changes:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Click <strong style=\"color: green;\">Save<\/strong> to apply the settings.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong style=\"color: orange;\">Reset<\/strong> to discard unsaved changes and revert to defaults.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>WordPress Login Page<\/h2>\n<p>Once 2FA is enabled, users will be prompted with a secondary verification screen after logging in. The screen will show a hint of the email address the code was sent to:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2FA-WP-Login-Access.png\" alt=\"2FA Prompt\" width=\"1172\" height=\"833\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The email containing the code will look like this (delivered via your site&#8217;s SMTP):<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpstaq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/authentication-code-2FA.png\" alt=\"Authentication Code Email\" width=\"1050\" height=\"780\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Notes &amp; Exclusions<\/h2>\n<p>Keep in mind the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2FA codes are sent via <strong>email only<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>SMTP must be active<\/strong> for code delivery<\/li>\n<li>Staq\u2019s <strong>1-click login<\/strong> bypasses 2FA<\/li>\n<li>2FA is <strong>automatically disabled<\/strong> on staging environments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Disable and Delete Existing 2FA Plugins at Scale<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re using a third-party 2FA plugin but wish to switch to Staq\u2019s built-in 2FA, you can bulk delete that plugin from all sites.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, search for the plugin in the Staq dashboard and delete it across multiple sites at once.
