My Plugins are not updating inside WordPress

Issue
Inside the WordPress dashboard of the website in question, you clicked the Update button to see a list of plugins that need to be updated but after you process it, you either get:
- an error
- or it spins/times out
Solution
Go to the Staq Panel of the website in question and click Debug:
Then, review the error message:
Under the Request column, you can see the file name which points to a fatal PHP error due to the theme.
The solution is to review the theme and see:
- can the theme be updated?
- are there any php errors inside the theme?
- is the theme compatible for PHP 7x and/or 8+?
Solution
To avoid conflicts and to see if the issue is rectified, please ensure that you’ve updated all plugins and themes to the latest version, including the plugin or theme that’s causing an issue via knowledge or detailed within the log files via Staq Debug.
