Hosted elsewhere (Site no longer hosted on Staq) Message

How to Resolve the “Hosted elsewhere (Site no longer hosted on Staq)” Message

If you see the message “Hosted elsewhere (Site no longer hosted on Staq)” in your dashboard, don’t panic. Before reaching out to our support team, there are two quick ways to verify whether the site is still hosted on Staq.

Step 1: Use the Ping Check

At the end of the website URL, append /.wpstaq/ping. For example:

    https://www.example.com/.wpstaq/ping

If the page returns the word pong, that confirms the site is still hosted on Staq — the message is simply a false positive.

Step 2: Refresh the Hosting Status

To remove the incorrect message, go to the site’s Staq Panel and click the refresh button next to the app details:

    Refresh website app status

This will recheck the hosting connection and clear the message if the site is correctly hosted on Staq.

If the word “Pong” does not show

If Pong does not show, but rather a 404 error page, then the website is no longer hosted on Staq. It’s possible that the DNS or domain provider has rolled back an update to old records or someone has migrated the site out of your account without your express knowledge or approval.
