Understanding the Functionality of “Must-Install” for plugins in Staq Global Plugins

On this page

In Staq, the Global Plugins feature allows you to upload plugins to the Staq repository, making them available for installation across all your Staq-managed websites. One of the options available when uploading a plugin is the “Must Install” function. This feature ensures that the selected plugin is automatically installed on all existing Staq sites and any new sites created in the future.

    Using the “Must Install” Function:

Navigate to the Staq Global Plugins section:

Upload the desired plugin to the Staq repository by clicking Add Plugin. If you wish to make an existing plugin, Must Install, then click the triple dots and click Upload New.

In the screen, check Must Install:

Once activated, the plugin will be retrospectively installed on all existing sites and will also be automatically installed on any new sites created thereafter.

To deactivate a “Must-Install” plugin for a specific site:

Go to the Staq Panel of the desired website.

    Navigate to the Plugins section:

Locate the plugin you wish to deactivate.

Click the toggle switch to disable the plugin for that particular site:

By deactivating the plugin on the specific site, Staq will respect your decision and ensure that the plugin remains inactive only on the selected site while remaining marked as a “Must-Install” for all other sites within your Staq environment.

This flexibility allows you to manage plugin installations effectively across your Staq-managed websites, ensuring both consistency and customization based on individual site requirements.
