    Out of the box, Staq supports image compression and conversion to WebP without the need to install a third-party plugin.

    How Staq’s image compression and conversion works

    It doesn’t matter if you have Staq’s caching solution turned on. The image compression is separated into our caching and optimization solution. Out of the box, image compression is enabled.
    When an image is uploaded or if a website is migrated to Staq, the original image is then pushed and stored in AWS S3 buckets for safekeeping. Then, it runs through an AWS service called Lambda to compress the image. The compressed image is then pushed into another S3 folder and is then linked to the website.
