How to download your backup files

On this page

    Introduction:

Backups are an integral part of managing your website securely, providing a fallback solution in case of unexpected data loss or corruption. With Staq, you can easily download your backup files directly from your Staq Panel. This guide will walk you through the process.

    Step-by-step guide:

    • Inside the Staq dashboard, go to the website’s Staq Panel.
    • Click on ‘Backups‘:

    • in this screen, it will bring up a list of your backups, categorized by data type (Content, Database, Plugins, and Themes):

    • To download a backup, click on the label under the ‘Data’ column next to the backup you want to download. A message will appear prompting you to download the file:

    Important Note:

In Staq, each type of data (Content, Database, Plugins, and Themes) is backed up separately.

It is recommended that you perform a complete backup and after the process has been completed, proceed to download each data type individually.

If you wish to export the database elsewhere for any reason, it’s best to do a Manual Backup of the database. Then, you can click the label “Database” to download it. There, it’ll download it as an .sql file and you can import it.
