Where you access the A record or NS Record
This guide explains how to retrieve the A records or NS records needed for DNS configuration when using Staq.
Accessing A Records
Accessing the A records makes more sense when the domain’s DNS is a third-party service such as Cloudflare, GoDaddy and etc.
To retrieve the A records for your website:
- Log in to your Staq account.
- Navigate to the Staq Panel for the site.
- Click on GoLive to access the A records.
- Share the A records with your DNS provider or update the records directly in your DNS management tool.

Accessing NS Records
If you need NS records, this means you wish to have the DNS management system running inside Staq.
You must first create a DNS Zone in Staq. This will generate the required NS records that you can add to your domain registry. Follow these steps:
- Refer to this guide to create a DNS Zone on Staq:
DNS Location and How to Add a DNS Entry. - Once the DNS Zone is created, Staq will provide the NS records. Use these records to update the nameservers for your domain in your domain registrar’s settings.
Accessing Existing NS Records
To retrieve the existing NS (name servers) from Staq, go to the site’s Staq Panel and click DNS Records:

Then, inside the DNS Zone, see the NS records inside the table. This is where you can retrieve your NS records:

Important Notes
- If your domain is managed by a third-party DNS provider, ensure the correct A records or NS records are added to the respective platform.
- If your third-party DNS service has AAAA records for the root domain and the www entry, please delete the AAAA entries as this interferes with the SSL generation process.
- For SSL certificate generation, ensure proxy settings are temporarily disabled if you’re using services like Cloudflare, as they can interfere with the SSL process unless you have added Cloudflare integration into Staq which means the SSL generation process will work even if proxy is enabled. This is the guide to follow on how to integrate Cloudflare to Staq.
By following these steps, you can successfully access and configure A records or NS records for your domain.
